Work/Life Balance Update
It’s been a good while since I’ve last written anything personal on here. With COVID-19 still around work/life balance for me has significantly shifted and honestly I kind of like it. I feel less anxiety over having to go from point A to point B everyday. I’m getting more exercise and feel like I’m eating healthier, in large part due to my wife. Along with all these new changes I’ve found that I now also have more time to devote to hobbies and things that I enjoy doing. As of lately I’ve been doing more work out in the yard when I have down time. I have learned about sprinkler systems, lawn care, weed prevention, and so many other things that I just never had the time or energy to learn.
I have posted a guide recently on making honey bee repellent because along with everything else I am also a beekeeper. I did also post a few guides on setting up a Raspberry Pi to run Raspberry Pi OS and OctoPi, if you have any interest in learning how to do that please check those guides out. I may also a guide on post processing prints since I’ve been asked how to by a few folks. In the next few months I’ll be starting a complete renovation of my backyard and will be making a few posts on that as well. I am still messing with electronics and 3D printers, but just not as much lately. I’m currently trying to sell my SLA printer because I am done with the amount of mess and waste that it produces. I love the results, but I just can’t justify the fact that I go through so much paper towels, gloves, etc. especially when a print fails.
I am also planning on building a MK3S from all the spare parts I have laying around so that should be exciting. At the moment all I need are a power supply, smooth rods, and NEMA stepper motors. If anyone wants to know how my SKR V1.4 MK3S is running, it’s going great. I’ve not had any issues with it at all, the printer just goes and I haven’t had a need to do any sort of intervention. I would say that 98% of my prints are successful. I think that the MK3S with an SKR V1.4 is honestly a better machine than one running an Einsy board, you have way more functionality and features, but it’s not for someone who is new to 3D printing because it can cause issues .
My hopes are that I’ll have some time to write more about 3D printing once I get some ideas, it seems like the world is kind of standing still at the moment because of everything going on. Anyway, I just wanted to give an update on what’s been going on these last few months and what I am working on. Enjoy life my friends and continue learning.
